EFI Commissioning Services, LLC (EFI Cx) is owned and operated by Ed Iczkowski who has been working in the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) construction industry for over twenty years.  For the past ten years, Mr. Iczkowski has been implementing the commissioning process for industrial and commercial projects.  Mr. Iczkowski has performed design/build projects, plan and specification projects, construction management, HVAC and control systems evaluation and renovation, and the development of operations and maintenance (O&M) programs.  His experiences influence the building commissioning services provided by EFI Cx; systems must operate the way they were intended to function

The commissioning process is a quality assurance process.  One of the benefits of the process is that the owner receives the greatest value for the money invested.  Most people do not want to spend too much for a product or service.  No one likes to pay for a product or service they did not receive.  EFI Cx ensures that all the services that the owner expected are provided.

EFI Cx protects the owner’s investment by ensuring the design intent is met; the owner receives the building he expected.  Many traditionally commissioned systems are not easily seen by the building occupants but they certainly know when those unseen systems are not operating properly.  The HVAC equipment and air distribution system, plumbing and mechanical piping, electric systems, tele-communications system, fire and life safety systems, and elevator equipment must operate efficiently whether they are easily seen or concealed by ceiling tiles, floors or walls.  EFI Cx ensures that all commissioned systems operate as the design team intended by functionally testing the systems.

Implementation of the commissioning process requires teamwork.  The owner, design team, construction manager, contractors and the commissioning authority are all members of the commissioning team.  Some commissioning projects require that the commissioning authority assemble a team of specialists to successfully implement the commissioning process.  EFI Cx has a network of professional associates that provide technical support and participate in the execution of the building commissioning process.
